Free Resources for the Whole Family during COVID-19

We have compiled a running list of resources and websites that are offering their services for free during the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you know of a great website not listed here that is free for users, please let us know and we will add it.  This is all in addition to the resources we provide you free of charge with your library card!  If you are a resident of Stewart and in need of a library card to access our regular resources, email us at  stewartpubliclibrary@gmail.com and we will get you set up!

This is the platform we use to teach coding at the library.  It is an online, self paced platform that can be used without direct teaching.  Best suited for children 11 +.  This is also a really great introduction to coding for adults as well!  If you are interested, please email the library at stewartpubliclibrary@gmail.com and we can sign you up!

The Metropolitan Opera has made it free to stream their encore opera presentations.  To access them without logging in, click “Browse and Preview” in the app for your TV and “Explore the App” on tablets and devices.

CBC is currently offering it’s live streaming service free to all Canadians.  A great tool to hear latest news as well as watch family friendly shows.

CTV is offering Canadians free Live News streaming during COVID-19.  It’s also got some great throwback shows to watch as well as some current ones.  Some shows are only available to subscribers but there’s still lots of free stuff!
